This is an ongoing audio series consisting of all types of selections across any format (vinyl, digital, tape, live, etc) and any genre or style, from those deep 4/4 floor fillers to soundscapes and on into to the weird and wonderful. Really, it’s any format or genre the curator wishes to share.
The main aim of this project is to showcase musical journeys and the feeling within the music, as chosen by the participants. Whether it be a set you would play to a packed dancefloor or those personal tracks you play alone in your headphones, it’s about sharing the sounds that matter to you.
“When I first started collecting vinyl about 2 years ago, I went out looking for grime and Ukg that I could buy locally. As unfortunate as it was, I would rarely find anything. As a result of my poor luck, I started buying some DNB and jungle type tunes in Cork, mainly from Bunker Vinyl and Plugd Records. While doing this, I was enjoying my hobby of vinyl collecting and also supporting my local record shops, both of whose’ owners were really supportive in helping me out (and still are).
Most of what I was buying was quite cheap as I only had a weekend job, but I’d find the odd gem now and again. All of the tunes in this mix are some of the first records I’ve ever bought, from Irish record shops. I tried to go with a sort of ambient vibe while also keeping the exciting pace that DNB always provides.”
